The C's are Killin' Me

As the Celtics take a nose dive plummeting them into a game 7, Boston's as well as my own nuts start to shrivel up as an angry New England awaits a victory.

On a different note, I want everyone out there in space world to do me a favor. There is a band called Ceremony from California. If you are into the hardcore music scene or any sort of scene that has something to do with Bay Area CA then you probably know who Ceremony is. If you don't then I advise that you take a look at their catalog starting with Violence, Violence which is their first full length album. I am not writing this to promote for the band but to discuss a moment of love and admiration I had today.

The bands latest album Rohnert Park was just released on Bridge 9 Records and the label also put out a 128 page book by the bands singer Ross Farrar.

I normally hate the idea of some punk artist releasing their work in such a way.

This release Society Verse is incredible. It is a compilation of the bands lyrics in poetry form, the singer broke the songs up into poems for a junior college class. Not only does this book have poetry, it has photography and most importantly reality. Ross explains some of his lyrics but he also brings insight into himself, he reads like a welcoming book through his writing. A nod to the Phantom Tollbooth was much more than enough for me to fall in love. I admire Ross for wanting to be a writer and I encourage everyone to pick up a copy of his book.

You can get the book Here for $10 or as a package with the bands new cd which is a wonderful trip through talent.

Enjoy
