Human Condition, Failure

The boys are ripping it on their mini tour, so if you get a chance, check them out, tour dates are in an earlier post.

And a bullet dodged

Some things go without saying, humidity is not comfortable, etc.
There are hills that creep up to you like in Mario, life is a two dimensional side scrolling routine.

When you're a two dimensional being a hill is a huge deal, it's steepness is it's steepness all around because you only have two choices, let life crush you or climb.

So find a grappling hook and find your way to the top, then what? No conquest no reward no satisfaction because life keeps moving, no time to gloat.

These bullets/hills that you may think you dodge, which you dont, can control a large portion of why you are who you are. You do not dodge them because life is a constant progression and everything is put behind after it passes.

This is called growing, appreciate it.

Re Cre A Tion

I need everyone to take a look at their lives.

Take a hard look at what you are doing what dead end job you are working, where you lay your greasy head at night.

Would you change it?

Now what would send your entire tiny useless existence into a landslide?

Life is serious, I don't care who you are, you care about every word you say or your wouldn't say it. You actions more than effect others, they effect you and who you are and who you show to other people.

Right now I am talking about being responsible for yourself and other people.

More importantly I want you all to realize that life is fragile but it is the only thing you can really call your own, unless of course you don't even own your own life, which is the case for some places on our Earth.

I just want to let everyone know that 99.9% means there is still chance for error. I want people to acknowledge that sex creates life.

The C's are Killin' Me

As the Celtics take a nose dive plummeting them into a game 7, Boston's as well as my own nuts start to shrivel up as an angry New England awaits a victory.

On a different note, I want everyone out there in space world to do me a favor. There is a band called Ceremony from California. If you are into the hardcore music scene or any sort of scene that has something to do with Bay Area CA then you probably know who Ceremony is. If you don't then I advise that you take a look at their catalog starting with Violence, Violence which is their first full length album. I am not writing this to promote for the band but to discuss a moment of love and admiration I had today.

The bands latest album Rohnert Park was just released on Bridge 9 Records and the label also put out a 128 page book by the bands singer Ross Farrar.

I normally hate the idea of some punk artist releasing their work in such a way.

This release Society Verse is incredible. It is a compilation of the bands lyrics in poetry form, the singer broke the songs up into poems for a junior college class. Not only does this book have poetry, it has photography and most importantly reality. Ross explains some of his lyrics but he also brings insight into himself, he reads like a welcoming book through his writing. A nod to the Phantom Tollbooth was much more than enough for me to fall in love. I admire Ross for wanting to be a writer and I encourage everyone to pick up a copy of his book.

You can get the book Here for $10 or as a package with the bands new cd which is a wonderful trip through talent.

Enjoy

fuck

The government is making it increasingly difficult to survive if you are not a rich white prick.

I have been thinking lately that this world is doomed to nothingness. Granted I am not a man of fate, nor am I a man of faith, but it is unhealthy to believe that anything has gotten better, or for that matter that anything will. We are all slaves to a multi-media governed existence, where we have found loopholes around the most simple, and enjoyable things in life. We are a generation born into debt, chemically dependent and clinically insane. We bear the bruises on our wrists dished out by the hand of “God” for our day to day sins which we only commit due to our monotonous schedules, those which we revolve around, sucking the life out of day to day existence. People talk about the world ending in 2012, and I say who gives a fuck; the world can only end if we don’t destroy it or ourselves first. We are the ones who will spend our lives “next in line” while aristocrats and upper-class junkies enjoy the fruits of affluence and a life of crime. We may steal, and we may rob, and we may murder but we are not the criminals, we are just another link in the chain around our own goddamn necks. We are another link in the chain holding us up from falling to our fucking knees. We are another link in the chain that feeds currency straight to sweaty palms of rich white men so they can wire it to their children away in the “ivy league.” We work to produce the food, clothes, and machines that keep them living while we struggle to put food in our bellies, clothes on our backs, and a car in the garage. We struggle to make ends meet, from the back of the food stamp line we scream for help while taxes go up and the price of living has got us all broke. We pay the prices of hardship while those who stand above us on the economic food chain show no more than abject posturing as they walk to and from their cozy downtown apartments talking in pseudo anarchist tongues holding an American Apparel shopping bag jam packed with all the tools they need to put on their best “I’m a poor college kid” façade. It makes me sick to my stomach to see the world has come to this. We can hope for change, but that may come the day we fucking die. We are the most self centered, apathetic generation to have walked this earth, and it takes falling to the absolute bottom to realize what needs to be changed.

Jane Who?

I'm currently listening to the new Deftones album, Diamond Eyes. I'm enjoying it. Today was a big day for a great day for Deathwish Inc. Converge's amazing album Jane Doe went up for pre-order on 2xLP Deluxe LP. I advise that everyone order as soon as possible this record will be sold out fast. Here is a link.

Buy Me!

In other news, I tried to get to a graveyard today for a school project and I found out that graveyards apparently close at 5PM in Boston. Weird.

I've got some majesty for you all to take a gander at...

Jawbreaker - Unfun Anniversary Repress

Also, sorry Ry, but I just got the NAILS Unsilent Death LP from deathwish and it is fucking unreal, check it out. If you like fast, heavy, self loathing and extremely pissed off hardcore, buy it, you will not be dissapointed.

Lifetime - Jersey's Best Dancers

Burning Love - Demo 7"

This perch is mine. I’ve sat here longer than that creature has been able to waltz around on both of its pieces of flesh. Longer than then the herders have told the creature what is right and what is wrong. Come to think of it longer than that creature ever existed. I came before the creature and its herders. I do remember and different place other than this. That place is where my first memory comes from. I remember seeing my surroundings, everything so brilliant and so far away. It seems that the beginning of me occurred when I was looking forward on the first day I can remember and much to my surprise I saw a round object stuffed into the front of my home. Speaking of my home, it’s a wonderful sort of place, I’ve got a surface that I always sit on and I’m protected from every direction. After my home was ‘plugged’ up I continued my life anew as if I were just born. I originally sat in an open room on top of a large piece of wood where every 24 hours the same sacks of flesh would sit down and shove things into their orifices at the top of the flesh. This is how life progressed for me, the same two flesh bundles all the time, no noise, just moans and creaks that progressively got more apparent as time passed. Time did just that, it passed quit steadily. There was a few times that I had been shifted around, face different directions, even put away onto a high shelf while decorations littered my original residence. My earliest memories were joyful, my house would be cleaned every once and a while, I’d be polished and smiled at. As days trudge by, the cheerful air seems to have vanished, and a thick air of sorrow coats my surroundings.
--
One day silence is broken, with a whimper at first. To me they were screams; whether they were endorsed with anger, grief, or sadness I do not know.
“Why did she wait so long to get this checked out?!” ejected the frantic fleshy object. “There was so much more time we could have spent together!”
I had no idea what was going on, but the object continued to pace back and forth along the wood my home resided upon. The fleshy offshoots it had were flailing about as it mentioned ‘regret’, ‘longing’, ‘fate’ and ‘destiny’. Words and phrases unfamiliar to me but within the context of the situation I could feel the energy leaping from each word.
As days continued to pass I could feel less and less energy coming from the fleshy object. Its movements became slower and slower. One day the object grasped its flesh around me and pulled me near to its core. I could feel a steady push and pull from the within the flesh, it was a strange thump thump sound. At about this time I could feel a pitter patter atop my house. I could trace what it was due to the fact that as soon as it hit a substance would run down the sides of my home. The noise was coming from above; somewhat heavy pellets of an easily separated substance were bombarding me.
Now close to the object I could hear a whimper from within its core, it rattled my home and dislodged one of the pieces of fabric atop my center pole. I could make out something that sounded like this; “I should have done something sooner, a doctor’s visit would have been enough, always so stubborn, we were both always so stubborn”. The words leaked out quite slowly with gasps between every couple of sounds as if the object was tired and unable to eject a whole thought without pausing. At this time I felt myself moving, a wonderful feeling, I felt as if I were meant to be in motion. It was not an abrupt movement; I kept in motion for some time as I remember. It felt as if I was never going to stop, and I began to remember the objects voice panting to release its thoughts. As the motion I was in came to a halt I could see new surroundings and a faint image of the old object was in the distance slowly being herded into a structure by another object. At this time my vision went black like a cape over the sun and I felt myself in motion once more. I was placed again on top of a large piece of wood which is where I would spend the rest of my days. Unveiled I was able to assess my surroundings, they looked the same as before, I was facing the same direction as before, my houses walls were the same as before. While I became filled with a swell of let down I overheard words from somewhere close by.
“We are doing this because we have to, you can no longer take care of yourself so we are setting you up with a place to live there they will look after you.” A voice devoid of will murmurs.
“What’s that you’re getting someone to wipe my bottom and feed me mush?” said a familiar voice that paced the speech out.
“No dad, its assisted living you will still be wiping… Oh never mind, it’s just for the best dad.”
“Well I won’t have it!”
“Dad, it’s too late we’ve already made the arrangements for you, you’re all set up at Retreaty of Versailles”
I hear it wheeze: “Well son, it’s a sad day when a man’s life is no longer within his command, is this what I worked my whole life for, endured everything for, for my son to lock me into a cookie cutter home and throw away the key?”
There was a pause and heavy breathing.
“Dad you really shouldn’t get so worked up, it’s not good for your health.”
“You’re not good for my health! Keep that stupid center piece we made together for your mother and take me to the Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, or whatever it is I’ll be spending my last days in because my son can’t take care of me.”
“Alright dad”
As the two slowly pass by my small line of vision I can hear the first object’s sadness within its steps as the herder shuffles it along. Upon reaching the door the object states:
“Give my best to your wife; it’s no surprise she is not around to see me off.”
“Dad, she’s away on business.”
And the two are no longer in sight. I’ve got my own new throne.

pounds of feathers
and plumes of bricks
establish the scent of your voice.
heard the movements today
of cleaning the rust
a dark high-noon red's rejoice

far below Poseidon's rain

Thats some fucked up integrity you got sonny.

Here's some records that I recently got in touch with..

And these...

In the middle of a crowded room

You look so lovely
drunkenly dancing with your dark hair
hiding your face
encouraging me to run my fingers across your cheeks
and behind your ears
removing your hair
and exposing your lips to the lust that lies waiting behind mine

Pressing our bodies together
in the middle of a crowded room
feeling the envious eyes of every other guy
burning on the back of my neck
wondering "Why him?"

You must feel it too
because your eloquent eyes suddenly seem empty

And as the songs ends
you begin to leave
and I stand at the top of the stairs
helplessly hoping for a kiss goodnight
but you walk away without a word
and I'm left to dance alone
in the middle of a crowded room

Window

I've never met her
but she stays in the back of my mind
like a guilt I can't assuage
her dirty blonde hair tucked behind her ears
exposing her green eyes to the world

like a window letting me in to her favorites parts of her soul

like a secret she's dying to reveal

and I'll never tell

and I stare into her eyes
with a childlike sense of wonder
begging for the chance to discover every desire she owns

Theres no beauty.

There's a beat a drum that soothes all of our souls, a high note and a low note for every mood. A drawn out pattern of beats for every break up. Who decides what... who decides where.. who decides when.. The need for escape is heavy within each of us. I know my current friends. I love them. I can't tell one of you a damn thing right now. Because you don't care. What troubles me only means something to me. That is how it should be. But sometimes you need more than that. And lately... I need more than that.

Something for the ladies.

Happy Valentines day lovers of the world. While most of us remain working or uninterested in such hoaxes, there's a group of you that thinks that our fair world revolves around your relationship. Well suck a fat one and I wish harsh times ahead of you.

As the seasons change, as do the beggars uniforms

This will be coming together shortly for the first installment of New England Standard's Zine. The holidays are over and work has become a sprint to ready some furry friends for their own holiday.

The past few days have been quite rewarding in terms of the post. Here's this weeks items!

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

For some inexplicable reason, I find myself disinterested in listening to hardcore music. The very notion of hardcore is seemingly petty, albeit emotional, is to me just some spectacle in an already bloated world of rhythm. I resent the predictability within hardcore songs, and of course, all the loaded words (wont die on my knees, gratuitous use of the term 'conviction,' etc etc) to a point where I am ashamed for both myself and the band, respectively. Yet, when I sit behind a drum set, or play a play a guitar, I feel an overwhelming urge to hit as hard and as fast as I possibly can; or play a riff that evokes a sense of sorrow. For me, there is nothing else quite as reposing.

The whole situation is incredibly defeating; in the sense that I know these bands are just like me. I don't know what to do, and that's quite nauseating.

Snow Storm

What a joke. Worcester is getting about 4 inches. What a let down.

Red Line Train To Ashmont

I can see them shivering
the pain in their faces paints a perfect picture of the
bitter cold bite that February brings
I can see them wincing
the fear in their face as they stare out the window at the
frozen banks of the Charles
praying that the train never stops
I can hear them gasping
their lungs begging for air
I can hear them panting
like dogs in the park hoping today is the day
the squirrel will give in
I can hear them weezing
and I can hear
their bronchial tubes slowly swelling
on this sobering Sunday evening
and as I step off the train onto the platform I hear silence
and I smile

fucked with knowledge of history
forever to repeat water and wine from a golden cup
but we're entombed with desire

Sadist Formal & Upcoming Shows pt. II

In the company of Gio and John.

We are watching Funny People. It is funny though long. You know I like Adam Sandler except for when he sings, or does voices. Otherwise he is a great man. And fuck it Seth Rogen is hilarious. And the Jack McHugh look alike in these movies is spot on and awesome.
Anyway this post is more in regards to todays mail that I received.

Such an amazing piece of artwork from Jake Bannon. I got 3 copies of it. One on gold, one silver, both limited to 200. The final was 'special' limited to 25. It is on dark green paper and looks simply amazing. I will upload a photo soon. I got number 1 of all of them. Much love to deathwish records.

Groundhog Day

Why am I the only one
sick and tired of every single day and person at this place?
We wake up in the same beds with the same mindsets,
look in the mirror and see the same face.
But I'm so tired of all this bullshit.
Every single day is the same.
Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
Over and over and over and over
till I'm so numb I can't sleep.

I'm so sick of living in the past.
Reliving teenage memories is getting old.
And this bitter cold New England winter got the best of me again
and I can't figure out if I hate myself or just the fucking cold.
I don't know.
I don't know.

I'm finally seeing how I should be living:
no longer feeling defeated or lost.
It's time to start being somewhat forgiving
to myself and not worry about the cost
of all my past regrets
from all the wrongs of done.
It's just not worth the stress
so I'll just turn and run.
And I will do my best
to try and be someone
who tries to change everything
about the way things are done around here.

Ryan

Is reading house of seven gables and it took thirty minutes to read ten pages. I am currently playing skate 2 and listening to Will play guitar really loud in Somerville. Skate 2 is highly over rated. Cory, Will, and I started a new band, and we are practicing tonight. I have been drinking Tampico Tropical Punch and living off Tina's Burrito's and Toaster Strudel's for the past 24 hours, but no need to fret, because Cory is swiping me dinner at Lesley tonight before practice. We listened to Iron Age again last night, because they are awesome, we are slowly but surely getting things rolling for N.E.S. and will begin the hard copy of the zine soon, but this will do for now. Will is writing for another zine also, what a sucka bitch.
